The Wawa Pee Wee Travelers continue their winning ways bringing home silver from Thunder Bay on the January 14th weekend. With 22 teams in their division we knew that they had their work cut out for them. The first game we got going and never stopped beating Atikokan 5-2. The second game saw great puck movement and we won 7-0 against the CR Comets. Game 3 against a hot goalie in the Elks PIA Canucks we skated to a 2-2 tie. Game 4 for first in our division saw us against the Westfort Rangers and we came away on top with a 6-4 win.
With the victory we were off to the quarter finals against Marathon where once again hard work paid off winning by a score of 5-1. The semi final put us against the KC Red Wings, and after scoring once we kept the pressure on taking it 6-0. In the championship it was a re-match from last year against Nipigon. Nipigon jumped out to a quick lead and eventually got up 3-0. We battled back and never quit but the hockey gods were against us this day after a few goal posts we ran out of time losing 3-2.
The team played extremely well all weekend and we are proud of all of them.
